need help w/ check engine light

Default need help w/ check engine light

i have a 98 obd2 gsr, my problem is tha t it is throwing check engine light. once i clear it by unpluging the battery, what i notice is when i hold the gas paddle/throttle stady at one spot that is when it comes on...i can go days w/ out the light coming on if i fluctuate the throttle.. what can it be? hope you understand what i'm trying to explain...thank you in advance..

reseting the battery doesnt reset the ecu, it still stores history codes.

i thought you could reset the ecu by unpluggin the negative battery cable for a few mins... how u reset the ecu so its not still throwing old codes.

well i unplug the battery and cleared the code..wait like a day and went to take the emission test and pass... thanks to GOD.. well the check engine light stay off long enough to pass but it is now back on... if i am reading it correctly it's through this code..90 Evaporative Emission Control System leak detected in the fuel tank area .

how would i fix this?
