'97 Prelude - Retrofit completed (pics)
Finished these up this afternoon, let 'em dry, then headed out and made sure they were aligned right. Check 'em out. Definite improvement over stock, and way better than any "kit" could offer...
For some strange reason, it seems like the cutoff on the driver side is a little blurrier than the passenger side. I can assure you this isn't because the lense isn't clean or anything like that, just sort of a fluke. I made sure sure sure that the projectors and everything was clean before we put them together, so it must just be one of "those things."
Since this is my first ever retro, I'm sure there can be improvements, but overall I'm super happy. The bezel is starting to touch the outside of the lense on the driver side, so the driver side absolutely will not rotate any more out to the left, but I think it's ok where it is. These projectors were flipshields as well, and we didn't get to mount them as deep as we would've liked.
Aaaaaaaanyways, I'll shutup and post pics.
Test mounting:

Finished bezel/shroud:

Both finished bezels/shrouds:

On the car:

Leveling the driver side. 25'. Laser level is the red line you see.

Beam pic. Only good one I could get. No tripod = blurry pics.

They're aimed correctly (height-wise) and no one's flashed me yet. :eyes: If anyone's curious, these are E-code (European) model Valeo H7 projectors from an Audi A4.

The stock headlight housing gives off a glare when HID bulbs are inserted. By retrofitting projectors, you receive a better beam pattern (more usuable light output) and you don't blind the opposing traffic. So not only does it benefit performance, but it also increases safety as well.

SickLude - there's a writeup out on another prelude board, I'll link you:

Mods, if this isn't cool, let me know or something... I got the projectors off of a messageboard's buy/sell/trade section. The rest of the stuff was eBay and Lowe's hardware.
fiebru1119 - A lot of people mount to the reflector. I was honestly very nervous about doing this, but once I got them apart, I found that the chrome reflector is actually quite strong. I used machine bolts, some plastic spacers (which provide a bigger surface to set against the reflector), rubber grommets (for cushion) and locking nuts and locktite to get them bolted down.
Those bezels are off of an E46 BMW single xenon projector, and they are about 1/2 of a millimeter from touching my outside clear part of my headlight lense. I am going to change them out to something smaller, because I think the lights still need to be adjusted a little. (Or maybe I'm just extremely **** retentive...)
