what are these for? b18a1

the two things on the intake manifold near the throttle body one is hooked up to the throttle the other thing is right next to it they both have vacum lines going to them. what are they and what do they do?

i believe the one on the left is a cold start sensor... and if i remember correctly, it is not needed, but dont quote me on that. Not sure what the other one is
