Exedy Stage 2: excessive chatter
Hello. Just installed my Exedy Stage 2 clutch, and Exedy flywheel on my 1994 GS-R. Installed clutch, flywheel, flushed and bled the hydraulic system. I know that the 3 puck design of the clutch can cause chatter, but does this chatter get better or worse as the clutch breaks in? I am planning on taking it easy on the clutch for the first 750 miles until it is broken in. Has anybody with this clutch experienced excessive chatter? I am used to performance clutches, I had an ACT 6 puck that chattered less than my new Exedy. Anybody else with this situation?
On a different note, Honda MTF is 10 times better than really old 10W 30 mobile one. Then again, any new fluid is better than fluid with 50,000 on it.

Well, as I continue to drive my car the clutch seems to be mellowing out. Has anybody used this clutch before? I was worried about installation error, but I think that the clutch disc just needs to be broken in. Thanks in advance for any replies.
i used to have one of them... it's a good clutch
but no, it doesn't get any smoother. you more or less learn to drive around the chatter. it teaches you to be very precise when downshifting.
give it a week and you'll forget about the chatter

All bearings installed properly. Yes it has a sprung center. I already rev-match, and or toe-heal downshifting, it is the taking off in CA traffic that I am chattering. Thanks for all info so far.
Its expected for that clutch (I've had one in another one of my cars)
You'll get used to it though, and its really a great clutch.
