It bent the crap out of my hood, now i have to get a replacement. I didn't quite slam my hood hardenough and it's been really windy today.... all the sudden the hood flew open and i couldn't see anything. fortunately i got off the road without getting hit by anything. you can imagine my Pissed offedness right now....
I think i'm gonna have to get a new hood. anyone got one for a 92 LS?

How did this happen? There is a required secondary safety catch on all USDM vehicles. Your hood should have been flapping, but not flying open.

 

Too bad you didn't live closer to me i'm trying to sell my carbon fiber hood on my DA

same thing happend to my buddys car but his was a hatch

 

yeah, i'm glad it didn't crack my windshield too. Actually i'll take either an OEM or a CF.... it was a stock hood. I managed to get the hood to latch so it's drivable, but I shed a tear every time i have to drive somewhere.

that same thing happened to me on my 89 teg... I took it to the car wash and pressure washed the engine and on the way home i was going about 45 and SLAM... destroyed my hood, destroyed my windshield, the windshield frame at the top was smashed in and it bent the **** out of the hinges... the estimate was over $3800... that sucked

 

time for a CF hood and paint it..

 

same thing happen to mine . shattered my winshield and put a biig dent on my roof

 

I'm just glad it destroyed my hood and nothing else....well.. my pride. I'll see what i come up with in tax returns, maybe i can get a CF hood.

Dam that sucks but atleast your windshield didnt break.

I almost got hit by my friends c/f hood on the highway. Well the top shell of it ripped off the bottom. If flew sooo high in the air and I didnt know what the hell it was at first until it started coming right at me.
