Default Tired to steal my gsr last night- could This part be replaced more pics

Someone attempted to steal my car last night and they ended up breaking the steering rack because of the type of securtiy I had on it. The Yellow part pictured broke off from the green part (the steering pole).
Can the yellow part be replaced or do I need a whole new Steering pole??

that part just bolts in there so i don't see why not......... i don't know if a dealership would sell just that part but i would try going to a junkyard and see if u can get just what you are looking for..... you can get a complete steering column for around 30 usually so thats not that bad.... pain in the *** but at least they didn't get your car

Everything in the box labeled #1 is what you will need. You cannot by the pole or the yellow part seperatley. Thus the $300 quote for parts. And labor typically runs $75/hour.

Looks like the U joint on the steering column. Sorry to confirm that you will need the whole thing.

From the pic the only way you can purchase that item is to get the whole thing (#1 in the picture). However if you went into a wrecker you might be able to just get the peice you need (yellow) and somehow bolt it up again.
Good luck

well when u do put it back get an american lock (at home depot ususally 30$) when the cars parked turn the wheel allll they way to the left where u can fit the lock in the hole. Like that at least they cant break it between those points and harder to steal

** edit** is that why they broke the whole steering column because you had the lock? **
