My customer's '03 Accord radio backlight went out. Is this a common problem? What can they do about it other than buying a replacement radio at the dealership?
Yes it's a common problem. It don't matter how many miles you have on your car, I had mine replaced at 62k. Way out of warranty!!!! Don't let them try to swindle you in to paying for labor no matter what they say, it should not cost you a penny!

They should take care of it for you. If this dealer sucks, take it to another one. There is a problem with the circuitboard not being properly made.
Dude the same crap happened to me on saturday. Im taking my car to Honda tommarow so I will let you know what happens. I filed a claim already so we will see if they can install it for free.

I went in and told them I spoke to American Honda, and they told me it's a common problem, and that was it. They tried to get me to pay labor, but I told them, American Honda told me it would cost me nothing because it's a problem on their end. So just take it in and don't let them give you any crap about labor, because that will go straight in there pocket.
