Default ABS light... intermittent in 95SE

ok, sometimes when i start the car (usually when its warm) the ABS turns on. other times, i have to drive a bit first (like 15 mins) for it to turn on, and even sometimes it doesn't turn on. do you guys think it could be a faulty relay? is there a way to tell if the ABS unit is failing? and if so, is it unsafe (like brake system fully dependent) on ABS?

ps i have a 4th gen, 95SE

change your relay - it might be going out.

To test it, take out the headlight relay(in the morning of course) and switch it with the ABS relay. If the light doesn't come on again - its the relay.

My headlights used to go in and out sometimes - found out it was the relay......

But right now, I took my ABS relay out - if you don't drive crazy, i don't see a problem with it. But it only costs like $13 for a new relay.

abs relay ... located in the engine compartment? i see two that are identical, would these be headlight / abs?
