i just went into my garage and tried, the h22 pan is about 3-4 inches shallower, so the h22 pickup is going to be up from the bottom of the pan quite a bit, i wouldnt recommend it...
maybe if you used the f22 pickup as well...

I don't know if I want to throw a wrench in the works over what's been discussed but I've found something interesting;
* Both the '97 F22b2 Accord LX (Manual) shares the same Oil Pan as the '95 H22 Prelude SiVtec (Manual)

now does the f22b1 have the same pickup/pan off of the h22a/f22b2?
personally, i would have expected pickups to be slightly different for a non-vtec vs. vtec motor

well, the f22 oil pan i used was from a 1997 accord lx
and i have an obd1 h22a, and i assure you, they are different.
i find it unlikely honda to use different oilpans between h22 models...
edit:so am i to assume there are different oilpans for us h22's and jdm h22's?

Could well be. I can only speak to what the parts manuals (that are available to me) tell us. And for right now, that means USDM...
