it has a plug at the end. at first i thoguht it was some kinda data logger until i opened up the box.

sorry for the bad pic, but the black box is inline with the starter wire i think? yellow cripper.

He is correct.
Where do the wires lead on the other one?

that started thing could have been a previous owners remote start or some sort of device like it and they alreadt said what the black box w/ green plug socket is.....you need to plug that backup btw
yeah the first thing looks like a remote start or alarm system. go to a place where they install **** like that and find out. i had something similar in my car when i bought it but they took it out when i put a new alarm in.
what year is your car? could that first one be your obd2 interface?
and that second one is the restart button for your maint req light.

More than likely to interface with the main alarm system.

The first thing you are showing is not part of an alarm or even an alarm itself. It is a starter kill device often installed by dealerships. When that is installed you have to slide a chip thing that is commonly kept on your keychain into that port thing you are showing in your picture with 2 screws in it. Just take it out, it is garbage. You will have to make sure you reconnect the starter wire together as it would have to be cut in half when this item was installed. If you dont do that the car will not start.
i believe those jumpers in the first few pictures are used to overclock your vtec into turbo mode by upping the fsb and multiplier. you can try plugging the serial port into the computer to get to the car's bios. jk. i have never seen something like that before but maybe you can try what i said.
