Brake Pedal Float
I just had my Master Cylinder and then the ABS Modulator/Pump replaced on my 94 Accord EX 4-cyl. The braking was improved by each one, but the pedal is still sinking too far when I apply the brakes. I thought this would be fixed when I replaced the MC. Stopping power seems okay, but I can put the pedal to the floor if I push hard, and the brakes don't seem to engage until I have pushed down a ways. Is there a way to adjust the pedal height or rods so that I can get more out of braking sooner? The last time my vehicle was inspected a few months ago, the machanic said my brake pads seemed to have life left to give. The lines have been bled twice, so I don't think that is the problem either. Any ideas?
Does the vehicle have issues with the ebrake system? The '94 ABS system comes with rear disk brakes with a funky ebrake mechanism. If improperly adjusted it may contribute to excessive piston travel; much like misadjusted rear drum brakes.
Also check that none of the calipers are frozen on their sliders.
