Default Crower Stage 2????

63422-2

Thats the part number above of these cams im lookin at. i know a guy that knows a guy sellin these for $350. but i think i might be able to get them a tad lower in price.

im thinking more then likely i would need a valve train upgrade with these? Crower makes some good stuff but are these anygood for nitrous. i have a direct port kit if you guys didnt know.

..........yeah you need a valvetrain - if you're smart of course.

It won't hurt using nitrous with those cams at all.

I have those cams in my '01. I left the intake springs in place, and swapped out the exhaust springs for OEM intake springs. Everything works great, and 30k miles later everything is still running great. I drive on them daily, no valvetrain noise, nothing worn out, and I'm 100% happy. I really think the Crower springs are way too overkill for the H22.

Nitrous won't have any effect on your valvetrain requirements. Only valve lift profile (accelerations), max lift, and rev range will determine your requirements.

If you are using the stock redline, you should be able to use Ti retainers, upgraded inner springs and stock outers. Maybe just Ti retainers, but that's up to you. Just inspect and measure the free length of the stock springs when you install everythng, to make sure things are in spec.

Id say dont cheap out and just get the valvetrain with it. Crower doesnt recommend it strongly for no reason. I run the 2Bs and whole valvetrain myself. MAKE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR TENSIONER TO A MANUAL ONE!

Simple buy the valvetrain, crower requires it for a reason. I have fixed numerous motors from people running billet cams with stock valvetrain and tryin to go past stock rev.
