I need to vent!!
I've got a 89 SI civic hatchback with a "ref'd" B18C engine. I've tried to keep the car stock looking.
Now like just about everybody else out there with a 4G civic, the seats are getting a little ratty.
I'd love to go to the dealer and buy a new pair of seats, but it's just not reasonable!!!
Here is what I'm talking about;
Just for fun I went to the Majestic Honda web site and checked out what seats would cost.
If you bought the bottom, back, and headrest (with no hardware) it would cost $891 a seat.
The rear seat bottom and the two seats backs would cost you $1476.
So, to replace the two front seats and the rear it would cost you a total of $3258!!!
Then there is the issue as to what style or color Honda still has sitting around in storage.
My goodness, you would think that Honda would at least make the "factory" fabric available so that a shop could sew up a set.
I'm not trying to say that Honda is any worse than any other manufacturer. It's just that no manufacturer cares about the cars it sells other than the initial sale and the federally required 15 years after sale.
