Power Steering Pump Leaking on my 1997 Accord LX , need some advice. Thanks!
First off let me apologize for the roughness of my artwork, I am getting rid of my laptop which is the computer with photoshop on it...
Anyways, I have a leak coming from my power steering pump, in between the pump and this plate(figure #1). I bought seal numbers 19 and 21 (figure #2) and plan on replacing them this weekend. (It is on a 1997 Accord LX)
What my real question is, has anybody had this problem before and do I need to go and get some more seals, or just call it a day and purchase a new power steering pump all together (which I don't have the money for). Are these the two seals that I should be worried about or is there another that is not listed on this illustration that would cause it to leak in this location. Thanks for any help.

I would try some make a gasket stuff and reassemble the pump using that stuff on the bottom plate
anaerobic sealer*. If, upon close inspection these are precision machined mating surfaces, anaerobic sealer* would be used. It's a tough spot. That plate covers the pressure regulator assembly and sees full pressure.

That is what I was curious about, if there was a seal on that plate or not. I will find out this weekend and let everyone know. I will also try to take some pics of the process and make a small DIY on it.

I am almost 100% sure that it is not coming from there judging that there was no sign of any fluid coming from that area. It is all concentrated near the backside of that plate and looks to be coming out of the seam between the plate and pump.

I am assuming that you will be able to find this at the local auto parts store right?

If worse comes to worse, you can get a used PS pump for dirt cheap. I have a 1994 PS Pump from an LX 5spd. for sale if your new seals/sealant don't work out (send me an email at whiteacclude@yahoo.com if you want it..put some reference to this in the title).
Check and see if your stuff works out. With that pressure, I would be a little skeptical of the leak coming back. Check ebay and your local yards to see what they are going for. ITs a pretty simple replacement especially since the pump will already be off when you do that.
