Axle question
for the boot ring that holds the boot firmly tight, how do i get that off w/o breaking it. Its not like the clips where u fit a flathead in and when u twist it tightens
is it the OEM band? if so, you just pry the tabs wrapping from the sides up, then it will loosen.
if its some aftermarket type, where you pinch the excess, then those arent supposed to be reusable. maybe if youre careful.

And another thing Tyson, whats a good way to get old bolts to come out??? I tried a little blue Propane tank. Cant get the bolt from the knuckle that holds the axle out
im assuming you dont have air tools at your disposal.
what i do at the junkyard is put a 10mm wrench in the rotor vanes and rotate the rotor until the wrench stops at the caliper to lock the wheel. then i just get the biggest breaker bar and cheater bar i can find. theres usually a spare muffler pipe around, or ill just take it off the car. then just do my power squats. its better to pull up than push down.
the only problem is keeping the hub locked in position while wrenching the nut off. ive found having someone use the brakes still doesnt provide enough force to lock the hub. and i have NOT found putting the wrench in the rotor ever damaging the rotor, no matter how much force. i used to also put another pry bar in between the wheel studs to lock the position, but ive found its not worth the risk of damaging the threads.
ive only once been defeated by using my recommended method at the junkyard.... my friend came back with a cordless impact wrench and zipped it off....
