I was lookin into getting a chip from them for my socketed p28....now I have a crx with the stock si tranny and I was thinkin about having them put in a 2 step launch controller since it is free. But do our cars have a speed sensor which is needed for this option to be used? since our cars have a cable that goes from the tranny to the tach unlike the newer cars that have an actual speed sensor.

Also I would like to know a little more input on how well that launch controller works from someone who has one. thanx

 

The cluster has a vss that sends the signal to the ecu. Otherwise vtec and all the other things that depend on speed wouldn't work.

The launch control works well, I use it on my PR3 in my crx. It's a fuel cut and not an ignition cut, so sometimes it takes some time to get used to. Light throttle is the best, just to keep it bumping on the limiter. Putting your foot farther in makes the engine fall farther in rpm between each "bump", and you may get a bog when you let the clutch out. The best part of the feature is if you never use it, it's like it's not even there.
