Default intake whistling

I put on a new AEM short intake. It makes a slight whistling sound when I push the gas pedal. Is this normal? I've already tripled checked the clamps and they are all on tight. Also it seems that i run higher rpm's(30mph=3200 rpm's in 3rd gear). It's a '99 LS, manual tranny.

It is normal, and its the throttle body thats whistling, not the intake. You can't hear it with the factory intake, but with a CAI or short ram, the sound is audible.

Yep it is very normal. However, I very highly doubt that you did anything to you tranny gearing by installing a SRI!

Its caused by a sharp edge on the throttle blade. You can use a file and break the sharp edge off of it and it'll make the sound better.

I love when you can find the control point, and just hold the throttle at that exact point and just whislte all the way thru a gear...
