removing stock headunit
Does anybody have an easy way on how to do this, do i need to flathead screwdrivers to get it out, or should I unbolt anything else, I should have just paid to get this done
When I installed an aftermarket Head Unit, I had to take out everything starting from the arm rest console.
There is an article over at Team Integra that shows you the details on how to go about taking the HU out.

You need Philips head screwdrivers, and ya, you gotta start with the arm rest, then the shifter housing & ashtray. It's seems like a lot, but it it doesn't take too long.

I'm not sure if you have to remove the center console pieces. You can get the radio to slide out by removing the (2) 8mm bolts. It's a question of whether you can unclip the radio harness, antenna, and possibly a CD changer DIN plug without removing the center console. I've never done it that way, but it looks feasible.

whatever you do, don't follow the install instructions from this article, just the removal instructions.
if you do it right, i'll look like this, and be as secure as stock:

^ my install.
in case you're interested, this is how i put it together:

^ drew that for someone else 5 months ago, seems applicable here.

they sell metal strips of that at any hardware store..or just any strip of metal that you drill your own hole in

well i attempted to get the unit out, got to the part where the 2 bolts were remaning i wound up cutting myself and could not find a socket wrench big enough so i am w/o a radio. I might as well just purchase a new headunit acura refuses to give out the code with the vin number unless you have the serial but for the price they are offering i might invest in a aftermarket unit, thanks though for the help guys!
