Default Please help...B16 into ESI

Hi there,

Now I hope no-one will shout at me for this post, as honestly, I've searched and searched the tech thread and cant find a link to exactly what I need.

I'm looking at putting a B16 out of an EG VTI into my EG ESI (sohc vtec; D16z6) and would really like a step-by-step guide, but more importantly need to know what extra bits I need.

As far as I can tell from the threads I've seen on here, my swap will be pretty much bolt-on, no mounts needed or anything...but I have read that I'd need to wire the VTEC solenoid, oil pressure switch, the ground for VTEC, knock sensor and the seconday butterfly solenoid? I take it as long as I have the B16 loom, everything I need will be there and just need wiring up?

Will I need the B16 ECU and gearbox, or can I use my D16Z6 ones?

Also, does anyone have any links or help on fitting Integra GSR camshafts and intake and exhaust dual valve springs to a B16?

Many many thanks, and fantastic site btw!

Ok, I'm probably gonna get slated but I've already looked at the threads you've kindly posted up above, and cant get the info I need, I might be missing something, but they were for fitting a GSR engine into a 99-00 civic, or wiring a SOHC VTEC into a non-vtec car.

I already have a SOHC VTEC (D16Z6) and my civic's a 1992-1995 EG and wanna put a VTI lump in, so cant see how the info would relate?

your harness will fit nearlt 100 % as long as the b16 you are using is 92-95 obd 1
you will need mounts from an 94-01 integra or 94-97 delsol vtec or eg that came from factory with a b motor "jdm"
your fuel system will work fine
you will need shift linkage from a 94-01 integra or the like from an eg with a b motor "jdm"
you will also need a chipped p28 ecu or an ecu from an obd1 b16
axels from 94-01 integra will work or from an eg that came with a b "jdm" or a delsol vtec 94-97
this should be all your looking for if you have any questions plz feel free to ask

Thanks for spelling it out for me, I really appreciate it....but just to really **** you off, I wanna check some things?

First, its not an integra engine that I'm fitting, its the 1992-1995 civic vti lump i wanna transplant into my civic, so do i still need to use the integra mounts and axels and shift linkage? I take it these D series parts dont match up with the B series engines then?

And er, whats a P28 ecu, I've seen them mentioned on here, but cant see a thread explaining what car its from.

Sorry to be so stupid....but I'm English, LOL!

im gonna have to ask you to read the fourm .not to be a dick but im at work and dont have time to get into detail. trust me you will learn more by searching than what i can tell you in this tread .

but integra mounts work on all b-series motors as well as linkage
