I was thinking of changing the 9006 bulbs i had in my low beams to my high beams but the internals on the plug are different, they have two little grooves whereas the lo's only have one, so they wont fit, can someonetell me what bulb fits the hi-beams...thanks.

 

put the bulbs together 06-05 and shave the tabs so the 05 are similar to the 06. also there is a small rail-like piece inside the plug that needs to be shaved as well, just use a razor or small sharp knife.

 

so does that mean that 9005 are the bulbs for hi-beams??

 

yup the 9005 are for the high beams but with a little plastic modification they fit into the low beam position. so in doing this you will end up with 4 9005 bulbs that fit in either high or low beam socket.

I've had mine on my crx for a year now and not once have i been flashed, lights or *******.

 

If your headlights are aimed correctly, you will not be flashed. There is a dip on the left side of the drivers side light. The beam is much lower on that side. Go here for instructions on the 9005 conversion for low beams http://www.bmwe34.net/E34main/Upgrade/More_light.htm
