Default New Help - Newbie Here

Hey guys - I am new on this forum but not to forums in general. I have a slight problem and need some honda expertise. Hopefully you guys can help.

I have a friend that has an 2005 Civic Si with a spun bearing from the supercharger he put on it. We are going to do an engine swap and would like to know which engine would be the best engine to swap into the car? Also, Which would would bolt right in or would some fabrication need to be done.

Thanks Alot

ok as odd as this question is .. due to the fact he has a "supercharged" car but isn't aware of which motor would be a good upgrade ........

i think it would be in his best interest to just pick up another k20a3 motor cheap due to the fact he already has a supercharger for it

rather than upgrading to a k20a2 etc etc and have to sell off his motor in parts along with the blower in hopes of getting all new items..

by keeping the a3, he woiuld now have ALOT of spare parts down the line if he had another problem

well, I'm not to sure about the differences between the A2 and A3 - would you please elaborate - also he did tell me that he would like to have the engine that makes 220 whp - does one exsist? Money is not a factor in this swap -

Here's a start, look up these two motors and maybe you'll find something to your liking. Although they are similar motors, I don't think the supercharger from the old motor will fit, but hey money aint a problem right?

K20a2 - rsx type s motor, lots of aftermarket and will easily surpass 220 whp with another blower.

k20a - integra type r motor - jdm motor which get 220 to the flywheel.

why doesn't he just build the motor instead of buying the new one, the same thing is going to happen to the new one just a matter of time

ok - so you guys are saying to go with the engine from the RSX type s correct? that seems to be the easiest engine to find -

has anyone done a swap with this engine? I mean, will the civic's tranny and ecu run this engine?
