I have a bare b18c5 block with scratches in 2 cylinders deep enough that I'm guessing will have to be bored to about 20 over. It's definitely past a factory overbore. Otherwise, the block is in great shape. A local guy wants me to sell it to him, but I have absolutely no idea what it's worth and search didn't help much. $100? $300? I don't want to ask for a ridiculously high price, nor do I want to ask for way too little.

 

Since it is a bare block, it is the same as any other B18C. I'd imagine someone MIGHT pay a premium to have the 5 stamped on the end. I payed $400 for a complete GSR block, so I'd start at $300-$350 and see what kind of offers you get.

 

How bad are the scratches? I'd say 300 for a mint block. 150 for yours.

Honestly though, I'd be interested in knowing what will be up for sale as I will be in K.C. in a few weeks to pick up my wife's new car.

 

I'm sure you'll get a premium for the R block, someone will pay extra to have it.

I sold one with a cracked sleeve for $300.
