How much is cheap? I had to pay $13.00 a quart
I found one dealership in a 50 mile radius that it. If your willing to hook a random stranger up over the internet, I'd be interested in getting three mor quarts just so I have them.

I've seen that stuff bring back more Honda trannys than I can count, best one was an LS a friend had, he ran it totally dry, (retard) but anyway it wouldn't go into gear at all, tried putting honda gear oil in, and it would run but barely shifted and it would grind a lot, drained it, put in syncromesh and it ran for another 80k (until he wrecked it) and it didn't grind or anything except when he wound it out from 2nd to 3rd. It's amazing stuff, synthetic blend as opposed to non synth honda. Practically magic in a bottle as far as I'm concerned.
its simply amazing i have 360km+ on my tranny now and before my swap i had the famous 3rd gear grind.. after using GM Synchromesh Friction modified for about 20k still shifts so smooooofoo :D
been using it for a few years now...had problems with infamous 3rd gear grind and sometimes problems getting into 1st at stop lights. hasnt been a problem since and I drive the car pretty hard.

I used it when I built my hybrid trans and when I changed my clutch and flywheel.
Took care of a slight 3rd gear grind when shifting high at clutch change.
Can't say anything about the hybrid box, has a bad 2nd (see not there) and 3rd grinds. Hopefully when I put in a new mainshaft and counter 2nd as well as new syncrho's this will take care of it.

I've used it with my clutch pack diff. At first I used the non friction modified and thought it was crap. After giving it one last shot with the friction modified stuff, I have to say I've become a synchro mesh fan

Someone should add this info to the FAQ if it's not in there already. I see a thread about this every 3-4 months or so.
This site has tons of good info and should cut some of the fat off of those facts:

i dont think the stuff you can find in autozone is the friction modified version (which is what you really want)...correct me if i'm wrong.
but in any case, i had the infamous 3rd gear grind and also some weird clicking noise when making tight left hand turns at slow speeds. synchromesh cleared all of that up
you should buy it by the case from http://www.gmpartsdirect.com

Yes, the autozone stuff is the syncromesh without the FM.

According to Pennzoil's website ( http://www.pennzoil.com/produc....html ) it is "Suitable for use in GM manual transaxles and transmissions requiring GM Part No. 12345349 or 12345577".
I also found this information ( http://www.stealth316.com/2-pe...h.htm ) about the Pennzoil Syncromesh: "A post on the message board at http://www.oilanalysis.com found Synchromesh to consist of a 5W30 non-detergent oil with a friction modifer and an EP (extreme pressure) additive. It is made under contract for General Motors by Pennzoil (APC 3378) or by Texaco (Code 1874 MTX Fluid). "

I had the same exact tranny problems 4 years ago... then got on H-T and a lot of great people recommended that I try GM Syncromesh ... put the stuff in and it took about a week or so for grinds to be cured. Its amazing how it helps cure syncro grinds. Remember... Syncromesh doesn't fix your syncros- if your syncros are missing some teeth... it's only a solution to help cure your grinding problems.
I still run syncromesh in my tranny & have no grinds- during daily driving, but at Expo 5 during Saturday's third session on the track... I did have 3rd gear grinds- which I guess that means that my syncro's need to be replaced soon. This is my experience with the GM Syncromesh... been using it for about 4 years now... Love this stuff!
