I tried searching for white smoke, but it didn't have much. The car is a 1993 Del Sol Si with a D16Z6 with only an AEM short ram.
So around 4:30PM I am heading north on a main road here in Tucson, and I need to get on the gas to pass a truck. Anyway, at around 4.5k rpms I see some smoke out the back of the car in my rear view mirror. I get by the truck and slow down, since this was obviously very weird. I babied the car home, and let it cool down. I checked the coolant, and it was full. The oil was brown and translucent, but it needs to be changed here in about 100 miles or so.
To be honest, I think the coolant may be overfilled, since even cooled it was around the brim of the radiator.
I tried later to recreate the thick exhaust, but I was naver able to. I am beginning to think it was due to the sun setting in the west and light refracting through whatever was i nthe exhaust.
Anyway, anyone have any other ideas?

I got it to happen today again, and it would seem that it only happens at high RPMs. The smoke is cloudy with a bluish tint. The motor has 102k miles on it, so is there anything that should be replaced now such as seals?

It's normal for VTEC engines to burn a bit of oil at high RPMs and when VTEC kicks in, and can sometimes puff some smoke. Mine does it at the track sometimes in hard turns.
Translucent and brown oil could be a sign of a problem, as when a headgasket blows, the oil will sometimes look like chocolate milk. When you say you checked the coolant at the radiator, did you check the coolant overflow bottle? There is a min/max line on there. Also, check underneath the oil cap for a foamy white substance. Those are signs of a blown HG.

Well I guess I meant transparent, since the oil is see-through. I always confuse the two. It is brown though, since it needs to be changed which I will do this weekend. In the coolant overflow bottle, there is a line and the level of the coolant is about a centimeter below the line. There wasn't any foamy white substance below the oil cap, so that is a good thing.
I am beginning to think that some of the seals are worn out, letting a bit of oil in to be burned. It really didn't burn any oil up until now, at least that I noticed which leads me to believe that the seals are just old.
