After tunning my spoon camshafts and my V-AFC i didnt get a big gain and was wondering why?
see the person that tunned my car barley tunned the camgears and messed mostly with the V-AFC
before i got the spoon and V-AFC i had 175 hp to the ground
with spoon and v-AFC tunned i got 178hp to the ground
my mid range went up 3hp to 4hp more then from 6000rpm to7000rpm it stayed same as before and my high end went up from 175hp to 178
my torqu before spoon and V-AFC i had 119 after its the same but at different rpms i gained a lot like 10 and little like 4
so i dont know if i could still tunne it better or what?
befor on my car i have comptech 4-2-1 headers and AEM cold air
after i have comptech 4-2-1 headers and AEM cold air spoon camshafts camgears and V-AFC

What are your cam gear settings and who/where did your tuning? If it is a tuner that is familiar with those cams, he doesnt need to move the gears that much as he would know where they should be approximately and after a few runs should get them where they should be.

Spoon Cams are not big cams, they are very mild, only slightly more aggresive than Stock cams IMO, I ran them in my old Type R, I made 178 with them.
The only reason I would ever run them would be to say I have spoon cams, or I couldnt find stock cams, but wanted to go back close to stock.
Spoon is a good name with great quality, but look at the specs of the cam
Toda Spec A---
Intake - - - - 11.6 mm, duration - 250 @ 1mm
Exhasut- - - 11.2mm, duration - 240 @ 1mm
Integra Type R
Intake - - - -11.5 mm, duration - 240 @ 1mm
Exhaust - - - 10.5 mm, duration - 235 @ 1mm
Spoon Sports
Intake - - - 11.53 mm, duration - 256 @ 1mm
Exhasut - - - 11.13 mm, duration - 245 @ 1mm
These are numbers that have been posted before, All these cams are great but I think better gains could be achieved with
Toda Spec B
Intake - - -12 mm,duration - 255 @ 1mm
Exhaust - - 12 mm, duration - 245 @ 1mm
Jun Type 3
Intake - - -12.0 mm, duration - 265.3 @ 1mm
Exhaust - - 11.5 mm, duration - 265.3 @ 1mm
I have Run every single set of cams Listed(exept I ran JUN 2's, not JUN 3's. even thought they are pretty simalar)
and If I wanted a Very Mild cam I think the Top three are perfect. but if I was looking for more performance I am almost sure you will achieve that with the bottem 2.
No flame intended hear just telling what on my Mind about people thinking there gonna achieve some phenominal Gains with the Relativly less aggresive cams. It is Possible, but I have seen 185whp with Stockers.

you can probably gain a few more hp , but not much also what is your vtec set at , went i lower mind to 5200 rpms in the mid range gains were about 6-8hp ! but also remember that every bit of tunning counts to get the best potential out of this cams .especially that there mild cams .
Rereading your original post. Power output does seem low for the cams (I am talking about the mid hp figures and tq figures). What kind of dyno does motorsports dynamics have? And was your baseline run done on the same dyno?
With the spoon cams there should of been a 5-7hp gain when VTEC kicks in over the stock cams. Plus the torque should of gone up with the cams. What are the settings that the tuner put your gears to? (He may have been lazy and decided that it would be easier to tune the electronics part rather than moving the cam gears) How many runs did he make adjusting the cam gears?
