H22 in a 92-95 civic hatch
I have a 92 civic hatchback si with 214,000 miles on the car and the stock d16 si motor. I know a motor isn't gonna last forever all though mine runs real good, I am thinking about doing a h22 swap down the line. I was wandering if anyone out there has any experience with this type of swap and what they think of it. I imagine it must be real fast because those engines are like 200 hp compared to my 135 with a few bolt-ons. Please let me know.

That has a ton of good links, the hybrid forum in general has some great information. I too am thinking about doing a h22, but will probably end up doing a b16 for ease sake. Other than the complete swap from hmotors, you would need hasport, or hcp mounts, and either mix and match axles from other cars, or spend $400 to do the hasport or other performance manufacturers axles.

i have an h22 ek and im loving it. remember this motor will only put down anywhere from 160ish to 170ish to the wheel. with basic bolt ons you should see 180's.

hell yeah if ur into doing all the fabrication of the swap it can be worth it, i drove my friends' hatch that was keeping up with a type r in a hatch with cams,valvesprings and retainers, and it had unbelievable torque but that was with the euro r H22 thats a bit harder to find than a regular H22.

Add some cams and a good header and you could easily pass 200whp. If you increase the engines ability to breath at the top end it will make serious power without even touching the block.

it's a good swap if you're lookin' for a good whp platform to start off with without spending crazy loot.
however, if you plan on doin' the swap yourself it's a bit more complicated than just your good ol average B swap.
