Default Head Unit making a funny Turbo Noise. . tried searching

My friend has an amp and sub hooked up in his hatchback. His head unit is making a weird kind of whistle noise as the rpms go up and it kinda sounds like a turbo. Does anyone know what would cause this? We were thinking it was the ground wire but we aren't sure. TIA!

i have read this before. the problem lies in the lengths of the wires usually being to long. my friends stock car and stock deck in is dogde stratus did this and we were always telling people it had a turbo. but ya unless ur going to change all the wires i think your going to have to get use to it. but i would ask somewhere else where they know a lot more about cd players and not cars. they would be able to pin point it to the wire probibly

thats an alternator hum....if you have an amp you can use a ground loop isolator its a blackbox with two rcas plus between the amp (walmart 15$) and the head unit. Someone with a little more tech savy can give u a better description but the 10 second version is the power wire is to close to the speaker wires, they need to be as far away as humanly possible.

every car can do it.
go to walmart ot radioshack and buy a "noise filter ". its a black box that gets rid of the noise.

move your RCA cables to the opposite side of the car than the power and remote wires. the noise can be injected into the cables if they are too close. I'm assuming that the noise is only there when the car is running...?

Ben

ps- in case anyone wants to question me, I was a car audio installer for about 8 years.

'noise filters' are just bandaids, just install it correctly and save your money for more stuff.

this is right it also could be a loose wire touching something.

Isn't it just grounds in a bad location? Yeah it's interference though. No big deal and not hard to fix.

If you must cross your rca's with your power wire then make sure that they're at a 90 degree angle.
