boring out sleeved z6
what is the max I can bore a sleeved z6 to? i was told that 78mm will give me a 1.8L motor. can I go any bigger or is that about it? I have this posted in the tech. forum but no one has responded so i figured i would try here
78mm will only give you 1720 cc.
i was planning on this same build also. i was told 78mm is really the safest max bore, and that would be on a race engine.
DH-Racing.com said 79-81mm bore. ("81 mm is for allmotor ")
Sean at ERL Performance said "The Darton MID’s that we use to sleeve the D series blocks can be bored out to a max bore of 78mm."
Vince at Golden Eagle said "To sleeve your D16 block would run $850 up to 79 mm. I always suggest going a bit smaller than that in case you ever need to re-hone the block for any reason. "
81mm would give you 1855cc
79mm would give you 1764cc
77mm bore will give you 1676cc
kinda interested in the new SOHC in the base model 2006 civics . already 1.8L
• 1.8-liter, SOHC i-VTEC® 4-cylinder engine
• 140 horsepower @ 6300 rpm
• 128 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4300 rpm
wonder if that could be sleeved and bored to like 2.0 liter
