The sunroof on my CRX Si opens fine, but wont close on it's own. I have to manually crank it shut. It seems rather stiff. Is there an easy way to lube it?

 

Probably the switch. Mine does that, too. It opens fine, but when it comes to closing, I have to repeatedly push the switch untill it closes. You can try removing the switch and cleaning the terminals. But you may just have to replace the switch.

Almost everyone with a moonroof can relate to this. They're a pain in the ***, and that's why I just leave mine shut. Someday I'll buy the carbon fiber plug.

 

take the switch apart and take some sandpaper to the terminals. they're usually full of junk that prevent a good connection.

 

it can also get snagged mechanically. If you hear the motor straining but the roof aint closing, try pushing up gently on it, and see if it will start moving... works for a friend of mines.

 

Cleaned the contacts they were all black...Works like a charm now!!! Thanks guys!
