Air Conditioning Problem
I am not a technical person and don't expect to fix this myself. I was just wondering, before I bring it in, what it might be. I have a '92 Accord EX with 156K miles that basically runs perfectly. I just use it as a commuter - 10 mile R/T for work. Last week the A/C stopped working. The light comes on, I can feel the compressor kick in, and it looks like I can see freon in the bubble window - but all I get is heat out of the vents. Any thoughts?
Check to see if the temp **** is stripped out. You can just grab it and pull it off to see if it is cracked or split. You can also look under the dash on the right side if the console where the carpet meets the firewall. There is a white bellcrank with the temp cable attached. Move the temp **** to see if the bellcrank is fully actuating. Manually move the bellcrank all the way to the cold position to see if this effects the air temperature when running the a/c. It's a very common problem and the **** only cost about $5 from the dealer.
