It's all nice and shiney now so enjoy it while you can. I put mine through a few weeks of dirty stick welding and bumping off walls and poles in night class and now it's showing some age

Make sure you keep the receipt. Mine crapped out a few months past when the serial # showed it was made but before I bought it.

I would also like to add it made a huge difference in welding, my welds look so much better.

a nice self tinting helmet can really help, i experienced the same thing when i first started using a nice helmet

I had a self tinting one but it was cheap.

i used to like autodarkening helmets when i first learned to weld, but after getting flashed a couple times when i was in tight spots covering the sensor i learned to use the regular helmets and never looked back. my auto darkening just sits without use.

you need to adjust the sensativity. everytime the lighting in the area your in changes the sensativity has to be adjusted. i never get flashed. maybe you should give it another try.
