how many miles should i get out of a 5th gen prelude? because i dont think im getting what i should it looks like im getting around 330-350 is that good or bad? now thats driving it like normal going into vtec say 6 or 7 times. what do you guys think i should be getting???

 

That's significantly better than me; I have been getting between 270-300. I need to clean my air filter & change my fuel filter; all other maintenance except valve adjustment has been done & I just hit 70k miles.

BTW - this type of thread gets posted at least once a week, so there is a lot of info if you search....

ive got 81,000 on mine i may need to change my fuel filter. but im still not sure if im getting the right fuel mileage

 

i just did the full 90K on mine. all belts, new T stat, waterpump, dizzy o ring, valve clearance. before the maintenance, i was getting anywhere from 290-320 miles per tank. i fill it when its low but before the gas light comes on. I usually end up putting in about 12-13 gallons. Im hoping that it will increase my mileage since most say you should get 27 highway. 90% of my driving is highway, at about 65-70mph. We will see

 

just wondering how much are you guys paying for a full tank of gas. in illinois your lookin at like 2.50 a gallon for 93 (where i am). i usually put in like 25 bucks so im thinkin that is why im having lower mileage getting around 200 a tank.

 

You don't know you're born! Over here petrol (sorry, 'Gas') is the equivalent of $7 a gallon - thats even taking into account our slightly larger gallons!

I get about 35 mpg 'highway' on a stock BB4.

Your mileage is great. I average around 300 per tank.

00 Lude SH - 73k miles, needs fuel filter.

 

i average 330 to the tank. My best is 370.

 

Anybody else have some odd fuel gauge calibration? From 'full' to 'empty' on my gauge only seems to represent about 45 litres (10 Imp Gal) - I confirmed this by brimming the tank when the last segment disappeared. I'm assuming that my BB4 has the same 60 litre (13.2 Imp Gal) tank as every other Prelude?

 

Usually I get 270-320 around town...hitting vtec 20 times a day. On the highway, I've gotten 450 and put 13 gallons in. Shedding 350lbs helps a lot.

 

my best was like 420ish mpg but thats only when i drive like a sissy. normally i get like 350ish shifting at 3k. this is a mix of highway and city miles.

 

i hit vtec quite often and drive 80mph average. usually more. and i manage to get 280 miles average out of 12.5 gallons. mix of freeway and city.

when i drove extremely conservative, 60-70mph, hit vtec like once?, i managed to get 330miles out of 12.3 gallons. but the slow driving isn't my style (sometimes i fall asleep seriously) so i rather go with 280.

01 5spd with 33k miles

 

I get 28mpg combined.

damn. i get around 280 on 12 gallons i've gotten a full tune up, too...

 

around 300 miles per tank city and freeway driving. I fill it with approx 12-13 gal. My best is 380 after a day of spirited canyon driving.
