Default shift linkage problem help ASAP!!!!

hey guys need help ASAP
I went to put my stock shifter back in today...when i did everything went fine..until i got in the car when first 3rd and 5th are find but when i went to shift into 4th it got stuck..it didnt come out of 4th..so finally messing around wih it..i got it out of 4th then i thought?! i fixed that i went back out and 2nd! did the same thing whn i was pulling out of my driveway...and when it is at 1st it smacks the sideway where the exhaust lays up in that area what could be the problem!

I bet the counterweight on the back of the shifter rod is hitting the exauhst.

nope not hitting the exhaust...
it is getting stuck for some odd reasons the hitting from the stock shifter is hitting the botom of the car...
