what type of tranny????

on the tranny it says s20- 233750. it is on a sohn vtec.

it is a short gear tranny?

233750 is just the serial number. you need to check if it says s20 b0000. that would be the shorter geared one.

where will it say b0000 ?????. what car is a s20 tranny from?

near the filler plug is a casting mark that should have the 'B0000' mark if it is the shorter-geared trans. search, the information is available.
