02 3.2 tl, can it get low 14's?
My friend owns a 2002 Acura 3.2 v-tec TL s-type and wants to know what kind of mods he should go for to help get his 4 door into the mid to low 14's
Intake/headers/exhaust ought to do it. I ran a 14.38 in a CL-S 6 spd with an axleback exhaust and underdrive pullies. Comptech headers supposedly give very good gains on these cars, I'd probably go with those first.
The TL Type-S can easily run a 14.8xx quarter pass bone stock...remove the rear spare, run gas down close to empty then throw in a few bucks of high octane at the track...lower the tire pressure slight in the front tires and you can reach 14.6xx with no engine modifications. My friend did it with my CL-S before i sold it back in the day, and the TL-S tends to be just slightly faster than the tiptronic CL-S in the 1/4.
With an exhaust and an intake, you could probobly pull 14.4-14.5...if you want to do it with little money invested, strip the interior of everything (backseats, carpet, passenger seat...everything) and then go do it...you'll probobly get about the same result.
And for future reference...its VTEC, not v-tec...and its a Type-S, not an S-Type, those are Jaguars and Mini's...
