When i had my comptech ITR lip it just took regular screws. I later replaced them with tamper-proof torx screws to deter theft. You just need to find something that's the right threads per inch.

I swear, people dont read threads now-a-days....that or they read every other word in a sentence...Comptech ITR style lip does not attach the same way an OEM one does to the front bumper. Not to mention, the member posted a schematic of the damn lip as reference.....where does it utilize regular screws ?

Just order the screws that are marked in green boxes on the schematic. FOllow the required amounts pertaining to the number of the mounting bolt listed.

Yes, 54 is the screw that holds a support clip for the lip and bumper.

it's super easy to steal an oem lip utilizing those oem screws. I have an oem lip myself but use locking nuts and a set of bolts. You'll basically have to jack up the car, use a 10 mm to open up the bolt while using a wrench wedged on the other end to hold the locking nut in place.

And i've heard stories of lips getting stolen. With an oem screw it takes simple push and pull and their out. OEM is not necessarily better.

Agree with you 100%...I too use different bolts than oem for that reason, but this user wanted to know what OEM bolts they needed.

I dont know about Mystikal, But i went to the hardware store and picked up the bolts, washers, and nylon threaded nuts. Cant remember the size, but I compared the thread to the oem one and chose a bolt, washer, and nut that was slightly bigger.

my comptech ITR lip was stolen 6 hours after it was put on my car. As were my optional rear valences. And they tried to take my optional side skirts too, but were idiots.

Now Enjoytheride DC2, i DID read the entire thread. My response was meant to imply the importance of using a unique screw, like a tamper proof torx screw. Something non-phillips, non-allen, in order to deter theives. Finding a screw isn't hard. I wouldn't even go as far as to order the screw from Acura, because they will rape you. You can easily go to Ace hardware, or lowes, and find a screw that will fit the holes.
I also knew that the comptech/wingswest lip differs from the OEM. I had to use double sided sticky tape to hold the majority of my lip on, whereas the OEM lip uses screws underneath to help hold it in place. Also, my comptech lip was made of urethane, and the OEM lip is made of ABS plastic like the rest of the optional kit.

My original post does seem to elude the point i was trying to make. Basically i was trying to say, screws are screws, whether they are purchased from honda or not, all you need to do is go buy them.

exactly why i decided not to get oem optionals. I got my screws at home depot ^^. But trust me when you should get different screws.

I take back my original statement on your response. Your explanation makes it clear on what you were trying to say. Just that i'm really beginning to hate responses that dont pertain to the subject, or that wont help come to a conclusion.

Once again, I apologize. But one thing : I thought the OEM one was a urethane made lip as well....If not, I had no idea it would flex as much as it does, and not break/crack when hit.

Thanks for your response. Technically i don't have first hand experience with the OEM front lip, just the sides and rear valences. And from what i experienced with those, they are ABS construction and pretty dang flexible. But my comptech ITR lip was so flexible you could practically fold it up and stick it in your pocket. It was also the only thing the thieves got away with in whole. They simply broke the rear valences.
