Default spacer on BSQ mounting kit is corroded..

i was doing some work on the integra when i noticed the following:

the spacer on the passenger side is fine. nothing else seems to be affected, and everything is still solid and in place. i guess i'll have to go in and replace that one of these days...

has anyone else experienced this?

i considered it for a second, but i've had this BSQ kit in there for just over 3 years. wow, how time flies.. if this is the worst problem after 3 winters and 3 years of throwing this thing around, it's no problem at all. i think i'll opt for spending a couple of bucks on a new spacer.

I thought aluminum doesn't rust. It doesn't look corroded to me..more like barreling affect. Looks like crap regardless

doesn't rust, but it can corrode, i think. maybe i tightened it too much, i don't know.. but i'm pretty sure i didn't. right side is fine and i'm **** about not over- nor under- tightening anything.

i'm more so wondering if anyone else experienced this. either way, it's not a big deal. it will be easy enough to replace.

corrosion is rust, aluminum rust but its rust is white and not red light other metals. i just learned this too, from working in the sand blasting feild for awhile you find out all sorts or weird things about metals

Cool, I guess when Al oxidize, it produces that white residue. Learning something new everyday.

BTW for what ever reason the drivers side of my car always gets more crap on it then the passenger side. Dont know if it has to do with the slope of the roads or what, but thats the way it is.

I've had mine in for almost 6 years now and have had no issues whatsoever. All components still in great shape and I check it all fairly often. My winters aren't as heavy as yours though.

I agree with you though, if thats the only problem you've had with it after 3 years thats darn good.

same around here but my passengers side gets washed real well from standing water on that side. Always clean underneath on the pas side. Drivers side usually nastier.
