as title says... how do I know if someone is saleing me a JDM ecu or a USDM ecu instead of going off what they say it is? Thanks for any help guys.

 

37820-P72-A## is a USDM ECU. The JDM ones are 37820-P72-###.

jdm gsr ecu looks like the 99 si and p30 ecu. and no, its not better than the us ones. i had one before and it sucks. i dont know why

 

I think some of the JDM ones are governed. If you plan to chip the ECU, a JDM OBD1 P72 is just fine.

 

so should i get a usdm one or a jdm one if they both are the same price.... looking for the best one. thanks

 

Get the USDM. There is no advantage to the JDM ECU, but there are possible disadvantages.

 

The JDM SiRs had B18C engines with P72 ECUs.
