Got into accidently awhile ago and just purchased some JDM HID headlights. For some reason I can't get the balast to fit on the driver side. The AC lines get in the way and block the balast from fitting. I tried to move the lines, bad mistake, freon shot out and broke the rubber washer seal. I was wondering what did you guys do to get it to fit on the driver side. BTW my car is a 98' so it fits just fine with the ABS but the driver side is what driving me nuts. Any help would be appreciated thx


haha thx for the idea but im trying to figure out a way without relocating the balast. Already did that once with after market ones and finally put the $$$ to buy the actually JDM balast that connects to the headlights. Appreciate the help though
This part is blocking me from putting my balast through. I tried to relocate the line to the other side but it came to short to screw it back. Right now im clueless how to fit the balast because the line is getting in the way.

Good idea. Some people find space right below the headlights. They get tucked in there.
In the worst case sceario, you can sell your ballast and buy slim Denso, or Matsushia ballasts.

Sorry for bumping my old thread but I actually have time working on my car again. I tried pushing down the ac canister + the windsheild bottle and no luck. That blue plug on the ac line keeps on hitting the balast. Don't really want to try and bend the ac lines because don't want to cause more problems then there really is. Any one have and other ideas how they fit their balast and have ac? Thx
If you really want a clean install, you could call up any shop that imports JDM ITR front clips (hmotorsonline.com, jdmtheory.com, etc..) and ask for that specific A/C line from a 98+spec JDM ITR front clip. They usually have one, or a few lying around the shop. I know Hmotorsonline usully has a bunch of random stuff not listed on their site.
Otherwise just slightly bend that a/c line down. Take your time and it should be ok. That's what I did to fit my oem ITR ballasts

eh.....I went the other route and completely removed my A/C
I didn't want to bend the lines and risk messing it up. That and it wasn't working anyway ( yes I have tried to recharge it.....multiple times too....just wasn't worth it to me anymore ).

You could also try calling some of the other well known shops who imports JDM ITR parts
But bending isn't really all that bad. It is a CLOSE fit. Here's a pic of what mine looks like.


Ballast and A/C line arn't touching. No problems at all with A/C
The last resort I can think of is to have a local shop custom bend you that section of the line. Could be an easy remedy.

If you bring it to a shop they pretty much just remove the A/C i'ts kind of funny, I'm going to try and put mine back in this summer. Sorry I'm not really helping. Most people I know just bend the line so it is not underneath .
