Default Axle problem AND Quaife

So im having a problem ive never ever experienced or seen. I have a quaife in my GSR/ls final drive Tranny. For probably4 months now ive been annoyed by a faint random vibration like an axle under accel. Ive swapped the axles twice to no resolution. Now back in october this started before i went to a race. but it was BAD, and i raced once made it 300 feet and the passenger side axle popped out and shaved off the very outer spline area on the axle just a little, apparently, the lock ring didnt lock or something. So we changed it out, and i continued the race all was good. So since before and after the race ive had this issue. I hammer my car daily, 440whp. Ive been to the track twice with 515whp setup and ran 11.0 so i was beating it up. I havnt had any real issues. Well today i started poking around just to check it out, it seems my passenger side axle has some play in it where it goes in the diff. but heres the wierd thing, when i pulled it out, i checked it and went ahead and swapped the lock ring. So i installed it with a ramming motion like usual to get it to go completly in, it goes, completly in. I tighten the spindle nut and go back under and look and sure enough the gap is there between the axle bearing housing and the tranny that wasnt there when i slid it in, i can see a smidge of the machined portion that has the splines on the end that are inside the tranny. I can move the axle in and out, theres prolly a few MM of play in and out, but its locked in wtf? It doesnt come out when i turn, or anything, just a very faint annoying vibration. Ive also noticed today when i was checking my tranny oil that i was mysteriously like 1.25 quarts almost 1.5 quarts low on oil and my tranny has been a bitch as a result here lately. the only thing i can say is that it might come out in a turn through the gap that is there from the axle not being completly against the tranny housing. like i said, ive been really beating it up and its been taking the beating. I also was just feeling around and felt the inside of the diff and where the little portion of splines are on the end of the axle after the lock ring are, theres no matching set of those little splines in the diff, but its smooth as butter, i was thinking Quaife just omitted those little splines or something. what THE F U C K???? any input. We plan to take my tranny apart in a month or so to replace the synchros.

check the axle seal by the housing if its still there if yes, then clean the tranny with some brake fluids drive it around and see where the leak is coming from, synchros arent your problems too unless your grinding gears...no need to take it apart until your positive about whats wrong. if its vibration all the time then put a dial indicator on your intermediate shaft to see if its out of round too...if everything checks out then your qaufe might be wacked out..

ive already swapped out the intermediate shaft with a spare. its always come from the driver side. The seal on the passenger side where im having the play issue, is torn at the top, but its irrelevant because the axle doesnt even seal against it.
