Sorry it's different. If you've gotta get it going for cheaper you can pick one up from a parts store. That's one aftermarket part that I can deal with being on a honda.

Are you assuming it is different because of the different years or have you physicly had both parts in your hand and tryed to bolt one up to the other?
Im asking because it looks dam similar but I wasnt able to have the junkyard part near the car and I dont have money for crap shoots.
Anyways i'll take mine out and gho to the junkyard with it in the morning and then i'll let everyone know by actual physical knowledge, thnx.

it should be the same just they are basicly the same in the engine bay so you should be ok . just cut the harness on the donor car so just in case your plug is different you will have one to rewire if need be ..

thnx stripped honda, thats what I thought from the beginging I just wanted some second opionions before I got the part.

Well anyways I took my 90 alt out and went to the junkyard and removed one from a 96,
the plug is 100% the same the housing is about 98.9% the same, the heat vents on the pulley side are slightly different but dont effect overall diamter. the part numbers are slightly different.it bolts up 100% the same and there are 6 grooves on the 96 alt and only 5 on the 90.
I was gonna swap the pulleys but ahhh the hell with that, i'll just tension it a little snug and it should be all good.

So now everyone knows they are interchangable and I just saved a crap load of money because I got the used one for 15 bucks vs 150 or so rebuilt.haha now if it just works i'll be happy.

Sorry I should have been more exacting in my reasoning. It was because of the pulley. You should change it if you don't want to chew up your belt quicker than normal..
