Default idle problems in my 95 GSR... whos familiar with the FITV??

i searched around, but could not find any good pics/descriptions for a dc2... I attempted to take the valve off today but I had to abandon the project due to rain... I need some help from someone who has done this as to how many/which bolts need to be removed to get to this valve.. I disconnected my intake from the manifold, got the 2 coolant lines off and removed 2 of the bolts that bolt the valve onto the manifold... the only ones I could see...and had to stop... anyone with pics/info to guide me through this please post... it will be greatly appreciated...thx!

the problem I'm having is a falling idle once the car is warmed up... when something drags the motor (i.e. power steering, window motors, etc) the motor will bog down in a bouncy kinda fashion, sometimes (only 3-4 times) the motor will cut out completely... usually bounces down, then back up, then back down and up between 500-900ish RPMs..eventually levels off... but recently has just been running like chit, very low idle sometimes, fine others... very sparratic (sp?)...I ran an induction cleaning service, some injector cleaner in my tank and cleaned the throttle body and IAC as best as I could... helped a lil, but sitll a problem...... does this sound like FITV?

Since this problem occurs when the car is warm, and your problem is a low or erractic idle, I would say it is not your FITV. The FITV closes when the coolant reaches a certain temp, so if it were not functioning correctly, your idle would be higher than normal when warm. If it is closing when warm, it is doing it's job.

Make sure your throttle body is clean, especially where idle air flows. You may want to adjust the warm idle using this screw, but if your car ran fine before you shouldn't need to. Could also be the electrical load detector or power steering pressure sensor.

Got to http://www.g2ic.com. They have an article on there about this problem. It has pics and ways to fix it. I would say it's your FITV. My boy had a similar problem on his GSR motor, his would bounce up and down very quickly. He went in and adjusted it, and it works perfectly now...no bounce at all.
