Might have air in the cooling system possible?, try bleeding some of it off with the bleeder valve, should be on the upper radiator hose bracket where it connects to the head.

Sounds like there is Air in the coolant lines, i would try to bleed all the air out first. Also make sure u have all the coolant hoses hooked up to were they are supose to be.

How bout that. The easiest thing turns out to be the problem. Not tryin to be a dick head but some of the ppl amaze me on this forum. They look at the problem and always seem to go for the worst case scenario first thing. It seems that not too many ppl have a real job in this field. But its good that you fixed your problem.

I blew a headgasket/cylinder-head while I had the same problem, undue the bottom radiator hose (when the motor is cool). Be careful its under-pressure, then connect the hose again and slowly, slowly, slowly pour the coolant where the radiator cap is without making air pockets in your radiator system, helps to use a funnel, pour some coolant in the resevior tank, turn the car on at idle with the radiator cap off u will watch as the coolant goes down, then refill it again and do that for a while. U will go through lots of coolant but u will save a headgasket if not much, much more! Make sure to monitor your temp gauge and check your radiator very often!
