Default SKUNK2 stage 2??????????? FOR 2000 GSR

planning on getting the skunk2 valve springs and retainers...and stage 2 cams...people tell me that the lift on the stage two...will make the valve hit the piston(not enough clearance) i don't want to get new pistons anyways ..i know it needs to be well tune....but will it be safe...does it need more advance or retard on those cams...advice plz.....thankz

I'm running a 97 gsr stock longblock with retainers and springs w/the stage 2 skunks, no problems whatsoever! Your peeps need to stop smoking and just sell the product.

i dont think u will have enough compression to run those stage 2 cams to there full potential. u might want to look into shaving yer head like 20 thous. and getting a 2 layer head gasket as well. some ITR or CTR pistons like the guy above is using would be a good plus as well. GL

I will have to agree, people told me that even though they ran fine on the stock long block, vtec should hit alot harder and that I need to bump up compression.

you shouldn't mess with the cam gears...unless your a tuner yourself...if you are a tuner...you wouldn't be askin that question tho....you get my message?

if you look at the captions on some of the websites selling those cams it says that you have enough clearance as long as you don't get oversized valves.
