i want a 6 speed take off in a automatic
I started a topic about doing a 6speed swap in a j30, im kinda wanting to take the other route. and keep the automatic. but im still wanting my tires to spin when i mash the gas. right now my set up is short ram and iridum plugs new rotor and cap, new egr and intake cleaning and ported. new tranny for 1500, i know thats low the dumb people at rebuilt transmission of florida are dumb and i signed on an est. of 1500 and got my tranny... top engine clean and all the minor tune ups you can think. my plans are to go with a custom 2.5in exhaust. an air fuel controler and have it dyno tuned. i know supercharging it would give me the power im looking but im not wanting to do that yet. does anyone know of anything else i should do first or after any of the above. and also do you guys know of any good websites for v6 hondas. i cant seem to find any, all of them offer alot of stuff for the 4's. any help peeps? and by the way i think this site kicks ***. im really glad i found it, and alot of people who are honda crazy like me and love to go fast. peace out people
spinning tires on J30a isn't gonna happen on dry pavement with good tires. the reason is
when the engine operates below 3500rpm, only 1 intake valve is being used. The second intake valve opens just enough to prevent fuel pooling. There is no v-tec lobe in this engine and when v-tec engages it lockes the second intake valve to the first intake valve thus giving you max engine performance. .
If you want to spin the front tires may I sugges a 3.5L swap or forced induction? Be warned though, your trans will crap on you faster you can say "I'm screwed"
Also under most circumstances an auto will be faster off of the line than a manual since the automatic has the advantage of torque multiplication (thank you mr torque converter) IF you have a good stick driver and every thing is equal, the stick will catch up and maybe pass you by the time you get to 60. WIth today's autos being computer controlled, they are able to shift faster and consitantly versus a manul who can only be as good as the driver shifting it (cars with clutchless manuals excluded as those are also shifted by computer when you press the lever)

what i was thinking about doing is set my tire pressure high 40 psi +/- to maybe. (when i goto the track) cuz i do notice when i turn and mash the gas i get a hell of a different take off . i know it cuz im putting a load on one side and let the other side lift and spin the tires getting my rpms higher. just wondering what people think about that. and thanks for that info man i would have never knew that. anyway to get around that?
