Okay so just wrote a final exam and i was leaving the school turned out of park lot and my ball joint popped out taking my cv joint wiht it out of the tranny. I guess it was caused by my car being to low so to raise it they said 300 canadian for labour alone, is that a decent price? Also i guess i need new shocks... to get it raised. I called an autowrecker cuase i was told it would be cheaper to just get the whole strut assembly? is that true, thanks for the responses.

 

thats the first....how can a ball joint pop out cuz its lowered? maybe the nut wasnt locked with a cotter pin or it broke

It probably would be cheaper just to get the whole strut assembly and DIY front end parts really aren't to hard to work with. Check your junkyards for cheap stuff.

 

Couldn't you just put some springs that don't drop your car as much? $300 bucks seems like a lot for that.

 

what the point of raising it? your still going to have to go over speed bumps slow

 

do it your self its all pretty straight forward then take it to a shop to get it aligned

 

Well the point to raising is its just more practical..I live in Saskatchewan and the snow piles up and scrapes against the bottom of my car its very annoying so thats why i want to raise it. I found some strut assemblies at a junk yard for 45 cad a piece, is that good? Thanks fora ll teh responses

because lowering a vehicle put a greater amount of stress on suspension componets.

Why not go with some coilovers, so you can raise it up when the snow piles up?

 

I'm pretty sure I do have coil overs on it???

 

TRUST ME, you can CHANGE it your SELF, ask any of ur friends that know so they can instruct you. ITS SO EASY. save your money.

 

Get the Tokico illumina's like me Im lovin it.. and it ride like stock... its also not too bad with your wallet.
