Questions about a Valet 710

Hey goys I got a 1998 accord with a Valet 710 and I was wondering if the Valet 716 was a direct replacement....i.e. can you unplug the 710 and plug the 716 in?

Doubt it. Just looked at the manuals on Directed's site, and they didn't list a 716 (Probably a newer model not yet on the site) but they had the 712... Looked at the manuals for both, and the 710 has a 12 wire harness, whereas the 712 has 18 wires. However, that doesn't really mean much, as you can really just cut the plug off from the old alarm and connect the existing wires to the new harness... That's what I did with my car. Had an old viper 400 (or something

) and installed a 791XVR using the existing wiring.

Or instead of cutting you can depin them pretty easy.
