05 si burning oil
my daily driven si is down 3/4 of a quart of oil in 2500 miles but doesnt leak a drop.i am going to do a compression test on it and i was wondering if anyone on ht knows what the compression points should be at? i did some searching and didnt find my answers.please help.
Yeah, common problem. My car burns a tremendous amount of oil too.
If you want the piece of mind, run the compression test. You are going to get all kinds of answers to the amount of psi that you should be getting. But the truth is it really doesn't matter. PSI is going to vary from one tester to the next believe it or not. What really matters is how consistent those numbers are. If all four read 195 your good, but if one cylinder reads 130 somethings wrong.
A more accurate test of damage would be a leak down test.
If you didn't overrev or hydrolock I wouldn't worry too much. 3/4 of a quart is really not that much at all.

Your oil consumption is normal. I own two. The OEM rings are hard as a rock. At around 10k it will begin to taper off. Just add oil and don't worry about it.
