what trany do i have

Default what trany do i have

the trany i have in my 91 lx is strange. its a d series cable clutch. the label is gone. the speedo is correct. the shift points are as follows.
engine d15b2

1st 6500rpm 42 mph
2nd 6500rpm 80 mph
3rd never redlined it

5th 70mph 2200 rpm

that could be possible. i bought it with a bad trany. and i put the one that was in the trunk in.

when i pulled it it had 90civic wrote on it so this is the third trans in it

Its not an Si or DX transmission. The si tops out first gear at 35 and the dx at 37. The STD doesn't have a 5th gear. That leaves the hf.

HF because I had one on my D15b2 and I was running 80mph on 3000-3300 RPM 5th gear. Si will be like 1000 more RPM than the HF tranny on 5th.

well, if you had a powerful enough motor, hf would be "faster" but the dx would still be "quicker."

for reference, my a6 runs 3000rpm @ 100km/h (60mph)
