My cat heatshield rattles when its warm, and its starting to rattle now. A while ago I took off the bottom heat shield, bot the top still rattles and I dont wanna take the top off. I got a new idea though.

Do you think it would be ok to put a screw clamp from an intake and tighten it onto the neck of the heatshield to stop it from moving? Will there be any issues with the heat?

 

 

no that will be fine, i've seen that done alot.

if it was me i would just take it off, just my .02 cents

 

believe it or not, i've seen this before. but with slightly bigger clamps over the part of the cat body that's cylindrical. in theory, it's kind of half-assed, but it actually works real well.

 

I work at a honda dealership and thats what we do if the cat is still good and it starts to rattle....Just buy some big hose clamps.....
